The General Conference was held at Prempeh College, Kumasi, from 22nd to 25th August, 1980. With about 800 participants in attendance, a constitution was promulgated and PENSA was formally inaugurated. At the 18th session of the General Council (1981), the Church unanimously accepted the movement. Conferences were organized once in every two or three years from 1981 until 1992 after which they have been held yearly.

Formerly known as I.T.I PENSA Conference, the name was changed to PENSA Ghana Conference to cover for the great attendance of the pre-tertiary students from 2011 to 2013. Since 2014, the venue for the conference has been permanently moved to the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC).
